La Horse
We drove through the single, grey, concrete road, the yellow line fading in and out on the road. Deep brown branches extended from the right, dotted and covered with lush green leaves, glowing in the sun like Greek fire.
The emerald green undertones of the forest gave it a calm, serene vibe, the color could remind you of a million different things- a calm meadow in the middle of the woods, with a pond covered with lilypads and lotus flowers ranging from white to magenta. Around the pond, there would be lush green willow trees, their leaves surrounding the pond like a natural curtain, as the soft ground and dirt was dotted here and there with clumps of fresh, green moss. Grey, soft-edged rocks lined parts of the pond, creating some form of nature fantasy.
That was one way you could describe the feeling those emerald green undertones gave you- or you could also say they made you feel like you were drowning in a pool of green emeralds, or a small bug inside a lawn of fresh, green grass. There’s a million different ways to describe it.
Then, we drove past a small farm- a large farmhouse, seemingly average, and right in front of it was a fence, rectangularly shaped, clustered around a ground full of dirt and dried grass. A single horse, majestic and brown in all its glory, roamed about the area, nuzzling its face in the ground at random intervals.
Now, driving past this horse wasn’t anything grand or remarkable, but if you just paused to think about it, you could see that this one horse could hold a lot of meaning.
For instance, if you were going through a tough time could represent the solitude you were feeling during that time. Or, if you were on the more optimistic side, that horse could represent for you a lot more things: your independency, your strength and resilience, or, if you prefer, your enjoyment of your solitude.
For the human mind’s imagination, you could let if fly free, that one horse could be a shapeshifter, a Pegasus in disguise, an evolved, modern centaur for the Greek Mythology (Percy Jackson) fans, or a unicorn in hiding, waiting for the right young mind to discover and release it into a dream, a book, a drawing or anything else.
My own thoughts? A spirit lingering on in the form of a horse, waiting for someone, something, anything to come and set it free, waiting to go on into wherever else and live a better life with its family. It now lives its days as a horse, waiting either for the horse’s natural death to set it free and have another shot at life, or for someone to free and give it meaning.
My point is, as small and insignificant as something is deemed as or seems, it could just be that window of opportunity you need to continue in life, your extra steppingstone or the extra nut or bolt you didn’t realize you needed.
You just need to find, for example, this horse, it could be the start of an author’s bestselling book, drawn from their very imagination, nothing really contributes 100 percent, you always need a team effort. For example, the horse alone couldn’t have inspired the author’s bestseller, the author’s imagination also was a helper in its success.
